A Firetrace system will automatically detect and suppress a fire in seconds by delivering eco-friendly extinguishing agents directly to the source of the fire. The principle is a simple self-activating system. Firetrace employs a flexible detection and delivery system called Firetrace Tubing. The Firetrace Tubing, which is pressurized, is placed within an enclosed area above potential fire hazards and secured in place with brackets provided.

When the temperature is increased to above 248°F (120°C) or the Firetrace automatic detection tube is touched by a flame the tube bursts and initiates the diffusion of the extinguishing medium. Firetrace system is Immune to dirt, vibration and temperature and reacts 10x faster than conventional detection systems.

The Firetrace Direct Low-Pressure System provides simple, reliable protection for critical assets. The Firetrace Tubing acts as both, a flame/heat detector and discharge nozzle rupturing above 200 °C or upon flame impingement.

The Firetrace Indirect Low-Pressure System uses the same red Firetrace Detection Tubing run throughout the cabinet’s components to quickly detect a fire. When the tubing ruptures, the system activates and delivers the agent through a separate piping set, quickly filling the cabinet enclosure with the agent and suppressing the fire.

The fire suppresion system can be used as a stand-alone fire suppression unit that is activated when a preset temperature is reached on the unit. The units can also be designed in a system that is activated in a total-flooding manner when a fire detection system detects fire or the products of combustion.
The rapid response of the fire suppression system quickly suppresses fires while they are still manageable, thereby limiting damage and preventing uncontrolled fire spread. In enclosed spaces, the agent additionally remains suspended for up to twenty minutes to prevent reflash. Discharge of a fire suppression unit requires minimal cleanup.

The UL listed thermo sensitive tube is the lifeline of the whole system and act as the responder for any fire/temperature rise in the enclosure. Fire Detection Tubing (FDT) is installed throughout the electrical cabinet.

When a fire break out, the point on the pressurized FDT nearest the heat source will burst, allowing the fire suppression agent to flow from the extinguishing agent cylinder through the tubing, and out of the rupture hole which forms nozzle and extinguishes directly at the source of the fire. The result is a long discharge of agent in the immediate vicinity of the fire, suppressing the fire where it starts. Direct Low pressure Systems can also be used in cable runs and trays.

The direct system utilizes Heat Sensing Tube as both fire sensing & suppression of fire by delivering the agent.

The nearest surface of Heat Sensing Tube bursts due to heating & it forms effective discharge nozzle.

Due to which pressure drops in Heat Sensing Tube & entire content of cylinder discharges.
