The clean agent shall be properly filled and supplied by a UL listed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) with UL listed filling plant. The Clean agent NOVEC 1230 fire suppression system shall: a) Comply with “Clean Agent Extinguishing systems NFPA Standard 2001 (2012 edition) Standard” including its safety guidelines with respect to “Hazards to Personnel”, electrical clearance and environmental factors in line with environmental considerations of Kyoto protocol. b) Also comply with the requirements of the “Ozone Depletion Substances Regulation & Control Rules 2000”, Ministry of Environment & Forests, and Government of India. c) have the approval from US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for use as a total flooding fire extinguishing for the protection of occupied space d) Be given Underwriters' Laboratories Inc. (UL, USA) component listing for the NOVEC 1230 gaseous agent. e) Be Fire Protection Fluid manufactured as per UL / FM standards and as per Kyoto Protocol. f) Not contain any Hydro fluorocarbons (HFC) / per fluorocarbons(PFCs). g) have zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) h) Have a minimal life span in atmosphere, with atmospheric life-time of about 5 days. i) Have Global Warming Potential (GWP) not exceeding one. j) Be efficient, effective and does not require excess space and high pressure for storage. Means Clean Agent System shall preferably be a low-pressure system. It shall be possible to carry out refilling of the clean agent cylinder locally. k) Be commercially available.
