Here’s how they work:
  1. Once the tubing detects the fire, it ruptures, resulting in a drop of pressure causing the indirect valve to activate. The valve diverts flow from the detection tube to the larger outlet ports.

  2. When the fire suppression system kicks in, a suppressing agent is discharged from the cylinder through the diffuser nozzles, flooding the area while effectively suppressing the fire quickly and thoroughly.

  3. An indirect release system is typically used in larger areas that require a high volume of extinguishing agents to suppress the fire effectively.

We Introduce, FET Fire Suppression System, A revolutionary technology brought to you in India by collaboration between FET India and ROTAREX valves, Luxembourg. This unit offers breakthrough technology with a simple concept to protect what is safe and precious to you.

The heart of the system is the Linear Heat Sensitive pneumatic polymer tubing. It is connected at one end to a FET extinguishing Agent container, which the rest runs through the risk area, in a predetermined manner. When the flame touches the tubing and it reaches a temperature of 90 Deg. C, the tubing bursts at it hottest point (which is nearest to the most vulnerable part of the fire ), thus forming a nozzle. The pneumatic mechanism then triggers the valve of the extinguisher and sprays the agent out directly into the fire, thus dousing the fire quicker than any other technique on the market.

This path-breaking system is entirely automatic, and once installed, requires no human help. Thus making it the method of choice for “Localized environments”, or areas which are cordoned off or have an enclosed area (such as panels, servers etc ).

  • Quick and Easy Installation
  • Early Fire Detection

1. Detecting a fire in the engine compartment

Bus fire suppression systems work by detecting and suppressing the fire before it spreads. Pre-engineered systems with non-electric detection do not rely on electricity and provide 24/7 protection. The system routes linear pneumatic detection tubing throughout the engine compartment to detect the fire.

Should a fire start in the engine compartment, the increase in temperature or direct contact with flame will cause the tubing to burst, releasing pressure on the cylinder.

2. Discharging suppression agent

The change in pressure signals the system to discharge the agent through strategically placed diffuser nozzles, flooding the engine compartment quickly to suppress the fire. An optional system indicator is available and alerts the driver the system has activated or requires servicing.

3. Suppressing the fire

The recommendation for engine fire suppression systems is the use of ABC Dry chemical because of its effectiveness in suppressing Class A, B, and C fires. These fires hazards may originate from fuel leakage, faulty electrical connections, short circuits, or hydraulic hoses. From a system standpoint, there is no difference in suppressing a diesel, gasoline, LNG, or CNG fire.

Are automatic fire suppression systems required for buses?

While the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) does recommend that all new and in-service school buses be equipped with automatic fire suppression systems, there is not a current regulation that requires it within the INDIA. With an average of 4-5 of bus fire occurring daily in the INDIA., a fire suppression system provides an additional layer of protection.
